About Rashmi
I'm Rashmi! I grew up in Karnataka, South India. From a young age, I’ve loved drawing, coloring, designing and imagining different worlds. Growing up in a traditional Indian household, I enjoyed celebrating festivals, food and listening to stories of gods and goddesses shared by my grandparents. Even though I work in IT, my heart has always belonged to storytelling and creating colorful worlds. I wanted to share the real heroes and their stories I grew up with, infused with culture, values, and the simplicity of my own childhood experiences.
As a child, I was always drawn to color, whether it was how Idecorated my notebooks, chose my things, clothes, or imagined theworld around me. I’ve always believed that color isn’t just decoration, it's emotion, depth, storytelling, and a reflection ofpersonality. This love for color led me to explore the art of visual storytelling, understanding how colors bring out volume, depth, shadows, and mood. I'm particular about how every illustration is presented, from thepalette of the book cover to the tones used in each scene and thedesign details that bring it all together. It brings me true joy tosee my imagination come to life through color. Through my art, I want to take children on a journey to a world thatonce was a world of earthy walls, peaceful villages, traditionalpatterns, soft-colored clothes, and simple, graceful living. A worldfull of stories waiting to be remembered.
As a mother of a 7-year-old who loves celebrating our Indian traditions and festivals, I often focus on explaining why we celebrate them rather than just how. Over generations, many traditions have faded, and customs have changed to suit modern lifestyles. But helpingour children understand the roots and meanings behind each ritualempowers them to value and believe in our rich heritage. ThroughMightyLoka, I want the voice of a mother to reach as many young heartsas possible, inspiring them to stay connected with our culture, stories, and timeless wisdom.
